About Alaska Regional Hospital

For more than 50 years Alaska Regional has been fulfilling the medical needs of Alaskans, continually improving the scope of services and skills available within the state. In 1994, Alaska Regional joined with HCA, giving Alaskans access to the advanced medical resources of one of the nation's largest healthcare providers.

Amenities

Also unique to the campus is the LifeFlight Alaska (air ambulance service) that makes Alaska Regional the only non-military hospital in the State where fixed wing aircraft can taxi up within walking distance via Merrill Field Municipal airport. Other amenities include: free on-campus parking, access to hospital via enclosed walkways, on site property management/engineering and 24-hour security.

Neighborhood

The Alaska Regional Hospital campus is located in the Airport Heights neighborhood, adjacent to Merrill Field Municipal Airport. Alaska Regional moved to this location in 1976 and is now a 250-bed licensed and accredited facility. There is a U.S. Post Office on Penland Parkway, an Alaska USA FCU across DeBarr Road on Alaska Regional Drive, closely located to the University of Alaska Anchorage campus, various fast food restaurants and store front malls within a few blocks of the campus, as well as Costco, and several gas stations.
